Club Spotlight – Youth Informed

MISSION: This club aims to facilitate healthy, open-minded discussions and encourage civic engagement, leading to more informed students and citizens.

Why someone should join: Youth Informed is a space to express one’s thoughts on sociopolitical issues and to be exposed to different viewpoints. The club also works with local civic groups in the Queens area (such as Let’s Talk Democracy) to host intergenerational panels and community brunches, which students can receive service hours for.

A. is a senior at Forest Hills High School. A. is in the Zoned Program and is involved in the school's Yearbook Committee as Chief Editor. A. is also a member of We The People, the AP Government competition class, as well as one of the two Presidents of the school's Digital Media Club. A. enjoys listening to metal music, illustrating, and also plays the electric bass guitar.
