Club Spotlight – Filipino Club

Club Spotlight - Filipino Club

MISSION: The Forest Hills High School’s Filipino club aims to provide education and exposure to students about Filipino culture. We hope to foster a sense of pride and community through our cultural meetings. Our meetings range from having discussions about history and matters that are relevant to the Philippines today, to partaking in cultural activities such as the “Masskara Festival” and Tinikling–a traditional Filipino dance.

Why you should join: Students interested in joining will be surrounded by peers who are curious, open-minded, and welcoming! You do not have to be Filipino to join. We encourage our members to learn and immerse themselves in the culture. We taught our members a traditional Filipino dance in the school auditorium. Recently, we attended a Broadway musical with an all-Filipino/Filipino-American cast. This year, we are dedicated to connecting with more cultural groups across the city.
