College and Career fair, period 8

Students at Forest Hills High School had the privilege of attending the school’s second College and Career Fair. Students walked around happily, bags filled to the brim with college brochures, stickers, and pens.

The Beacon newspaper staff witnessed so many great interactions between students and admissions officers. Beyond the booths of SUNY and CUNY schools, there were numerous alternative pathways. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz’s representatives were incredibly friendly and happy to provide information on internships and possible career options available for high schoolers who would

soon graduate, including a free culinary school program.

This fair was a great way for seniors to glance at their potential future endeavors and narrow their choices. Even for those that don’t foresee college in their future, the numerous internships and career pathways displayed posed great alternatives.

The Beacon can’t wait to return for another year in 2024!
