Meet the Cast and Crew
The cast features junior Michelle Merjave as the ambitious and cunning Roxie Hart, and Nicole as the sensational and manipulative Velma Kelly. According to Michelle this play is a thrilling play about murder. “My character basically is a woman who shoots the man she’s cheating on her husband with because he promised her something and couldn’t go through with that promise.”
The drama academy is working extremely hard in order to deliver us a play that the public will enjoy. “Our rehearsals are 8th period and everyone is always working on something, so if there’s someone on stage practicing a dance, there’s people in the hallway with Mr. Birkhold and everyone is doing their own thing,” Michelle shares.
Marek Rodziewicz, a junior in the drama academy, will be playing the role of Fred. He explained that the process is already in motion. “We already completed the first number and are moving on to other parts.”

It was also adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 2002. Excitingly, Forest Hills High School will be putting on its own production of Chicago in May 2025, bringing this Broadway hit to the local stage! The story follows Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, two women accused of murder who compete for fame and freedom in the media circus of 1920s Chicago.
