2025 is shaping up to be SZA’s year. With each achievement, SZA shows no signs of slowing down. She truly is a star.
At the end of 2024, SZA dropped her new album, “Lana.” Listening to “Lana” felt like flipping through the pages of her diary. It felt personal and intimate. Her writing in this album was soulful and honest. From heartbreak to self-reflection, SZA wasn’t afraid to tackle difficult topics when designing this album. She incorporated many themes and sounds in this album and others as well.
After two years, SZA fulfilled her promise and released her album, “Lana” to the world. Before this, she appeared as a surprise-feature on Kendrick Lamar’s album, “GNX,” in songs “Luther” and “Gloria.” Following the buzz from “GNX,” SZA dropped “Lana,” and to many fans’ surprise, Kendrick appeared on the album.
This only made it even more incredible.
Kendrick and SZA have always been a fan-favorite duo, as working together truly shows their creative chemistry. One song that showcases their chemistry is “30 for 30.” The chorus, specifically, where SZA and Kendrick share lines, is hypnotic, mesmerizing, and captivating.
Towards the end of ‘24 and continuing through the beginning months of ‘25, SZA stays popping off. Following the release of Kendrick and SZA’s individual albums, they announced their world tour.
According to SZA’s Grand National Tour website, they’re going to cover North America and Europe, set to hit 39 stadiums. The tour begins in April ‘25 in Minneapolis and ends in August in Stockholm. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see the iconic duo on stage together, as the buzz on social media increases.
Another highlight of SZA’s year is her Grammy win. SZA won Best R&B Song for “Saturn.” This is the second year in a row she’s won a Grammy in the same category. Her winning song for 2024 was “Snooze.”
SZA continues to shine bright this year, even performing with Kendrick in Super Bowl LIX’s halftime show in February. The duo sang “Luther” and fan-favorite “All the Stars.”
With this success, SZA continues to release music, as loyal fans wait eagerly to see what’s next. She released four new songs to add to her album, “Lana.” As well, Super Bowl LIX brought “SOS Deluxe: ‘Lana’” up on the Billboard charts.
