On Sept. 16, 2024 Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in Manhattan after being indicted by a grand jury. He is currently being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center, which is also where Jeffrey Epstein was held, and is facing charges of sexual assault and racketeering. There have also been accusations that he, or people he instructed, set rapper Kid Cudi’s car on fire, allegedly due to the fact that he believed that Kid Cudi and his then girlfriend, Cassie, were involved with one another.
Timeline of Diddy Allegations
There are just a few allegations against Diddy referencing crimes that are said to have occurred more than two decades ago, although many of them have been exposed recently. The following is a timeline of said allegations, not a timeline of the way in which this information was released to the public.
2001
According to Fox 26 Houston, Harris County woman Thalia Graves sued Sean Combs, alleging that he assaulted her at Bad Boy studio in Manhattan in 2001, recorded it and then sold it and showed it to others. She also alleged that his bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, assaulted her afterwards.
April Lampos, another woman who publicly came forward, accused Combs of sexual assault from 1995- 2001, while she was a college student, in four different encounters. During one of which she alleged that he forced her to take a hallucinogenic drug.
2003
As per Forbes reporter Siladitya Ray, former model Crystal McKinney alleged that Combs sexually assaulted her at his New York recording studio.
2005-2018
Cassie Ventura sued “ex-boyfriend” Sean Combs during November of 2023. It consisted of allegations of him forcing her to take drugs, beating her, and other vile forms of abuse. The suit also states that in 2018, near the close of their relationship, he forcibly entered her home and assaulted her. They settled out of court for $30 million.
Earlier this year CNN obtained and released a video from 2016 of Combs grabbing, shoving, dragging and kicking Ventura at a hotel. Two days later he apologized and stated, “I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”
Ventura publicly exposing Diddy out helped to push other alleged victims to come out. Ventura allegedly worked with federal investigators for weeks. Possibly even before the raids occurred, there is speculation that she may have helped the investigators establish probable cause for search warrants.
2024
In March of this year, federal authorities raided Diddy’s homes, finding 1,000 bottles of baby oil (some of which are alleged to not actually contain baby oil) among other unusual objects. His sons Justin and Christian were handcuffed during this raid.
Diddy stated that many of the civil suits filed against him are “baseless” and “money grabs.”
Who else was or may be involved?
Usher
According to Alex Gonzalez of Newsweek, Usher was legally adopted by Diddy at 13 years old. He expressed multiple times that he was exposed to a lot at a young age and from his descriptions, it’s suspected that Usher witnessed many of the inappropriate events that Diddy held. However, Usher stated that he’d never let it ‘take him over.’
Ne- Yo
Recently a video has resurfaced of Ne-Yo’s ex-girlfriend, Sade Bagnerise, comparing him to Diddy in a social media post. She alleges that he had parties and inappropriate things occurred in their house even though his kids were there. However, as per The Express Tribune, Ne-Yo has not been accused of any wrongdoing in connection with Diddy, or through his relationship with Diddy, as of now.
Ashton Kutcher
As per The Economic Times, Diddy and Ashton Kutcher reportedly grew close in the 2000s and began going to clubs together in 2003. Combs wrote “With Jamie Foxx, we were a rat pack, hanging out, going to clubs.” Kutcher stopped partying with Diddy when he began a serious relationship with Demi Moore. Diddy later clarified, however, that he and Kutcher still stayed close afterwards.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z
As of late, there has been a trend on the social media platform, TikTok, in which users make comedy skits thanking Beyoncé after any occasion after TikTokers noticed that many major artists thank or mention Beyoncé in their acceptance speeches. However, according to Forbes Senior Contributor Dani Di Placido, this meme seems to have originated from conspiracy theories involving Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Diddy. Including the idea that Jay-Z and Diddy were close so by default Beyoncé knew what was going on at these parties. Or the idea that if someone beat Beyoncé for an award that Diddy would “come after them.”
It’s important to remember that this entire article is based on allegations relating to a case that has not yet gone to trial. As of now, nothing here is legally confirmed as fact and there have been no convictions, just allegations.
